A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited emails, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a shared hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel comes with quite a lot of features, but it is very easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only one click. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will just have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective email address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or select another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than a click if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the addresses that you set up with any domain name hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a tiny "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this option will be to click that icon. In the exact same way you’ll be able to turn off the feature, in case you do not need it any longer. Our system will notify you in case you’re trying to activate a second catch-all mailbox for a given domain or if there is active email forwarding, but it’ll never disable or modify anything automatically or without your permission.
